Google new spam algorithm is rolling out over the next two weeks – Jul 26, 2021
Google is rolling out the link spam update today and throughout the next two weeks. This link spam update targets spammy links more broadly and across multiple languages.

“In general, using affiliate links to monetize a website is fine. Google asks sites participating in affiliate programs to qualify these links with rel=”sponsored”, regardless of whether these links were created manually or dynamically.”

“Google still strongly recommends that site owners apply the appropriate rel values to these links. When we detect sites engaging in either publishing or acquiring links with excessive sponsored and guest posting without proper link tags, algorithmic and manual actions may be applied, similar to affiliate links.”

Moved a site to a new location with URL changes? Keep the redirects at least 1 year – Jul 21, 2021
- Use HTTP 301 redirects. Although Googlebot supports several kinds of redirects, is better to use HTTP 301 redirects if possible.
- Keep the redirects for as long as possible, generally at least 1 year. This timeframe allows Google to transfer all signals to the new URLs, including recrawling and reassigning links on other sites that point to your old URLs.

Google’s product reviews update – April 8, 2021
Google announced a new search algorithm update it is calling the “product reviews update“. This update is “designed to better reward” product reviews that “share in-depth research, rather than thin content that simply summarizes a bunch of products”. This update only involves English language reviews for now.
In my opinion, it is a welcome move that will help review authors, especially those who are new and do not have authoritative sites. Until now, even if you did good reviews on your site, but you did not have authority, you did not have any chance to rank in front of large sites with authority, which displayed even those products with duplicate content.
Hopefully, this will change from now on!

Google Search Core algorithm update (MEDICAL UPDATE) – August 1, 2018
Google is calling this a broad, core update, but seems to be a focus on health and medical sites. This update has taken the name of “Medical Update” because was focused on the medical and health websites.
Also, other niches were impacted, such as e-commerce, insurance, finance, business to business, YMYL (Your Money Your Life), entertainment, deal sites, etc.
Speed is now used as a ranking factor for website – April 09, 2010
On Friday, April 09, 2010, Google announced
Google finally use mobile page speed as a ranking in their mobile search results. Only pages that “deliver the slowest experience to users” will be impacted by this update.
In 2010, Google said page speed was a ranking factor but it “as focused on desktop searches” only.
